Back in 2007 NS Optimum facilitated a donation of computers from the Bromsgrove School to the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica. The Bromsgrove School, in the UK, donated 200 computers; NS Optimum donated 3 servers, 1 wireless network system, 2 projectors and screens.
NS Optimum recycled an outstanding 99% of the redundant PCs from Bromsgrove School. 200 machines were repaired, stripped for spare parts, upgraded and prepared for a new lease of life. NS Optimum also took the opportunity to send over technicians to train school staff and students on best practises for cabling, maintaining, repairing and expanding computer networks.
The project took extensive planning and preparation, deployment of the PCs and training took just two weeks and since then all schools have been supported remotely from the UK over a secure internet connection.
